Introduction

First and foremost I’d like to take a moment to share that cannabis is currently a Class B drug in the United Kingdom (No matter how silly this may seem) and if you’re caught you will suffer the consequences.

I’m starting this blog for a few reasons, firstly as a place to share my biffed-up ramblings and secondly to reflect upon my experiences with the UK cannabis market varying from place to place, and the quality of the cannabis. I will, more than likely, also share news articles and possibly research papers that disprove some of the myths that have been spawned about cannabis.

I also acknowledge that anything in excess is bad for you, to say cannabis is 100% harmless - I’d dare say - is daft. Smoking anything is bad for you.

After the initial, who am I, and my recognition of the law and me totally not telling you to go and smoke loads of weed, I decided I’d like my opening blog post to be a little about myself so any readers can know who they’re dealing with, no matter how vague the details.

I’m currently twenty years old and residing in the North East of the UK. I’ve been smoking cannabis medicinally, and admittedly, recreationally for four years. I suffer from depression and insomnia, in short, cannabis keeps me happy and sleepy. Due to the current UK laws I’ve had to resort to going to the streets to get my medicine, and intoxicant, of choice. Prior to this I was what you might consider a model citizen, I kept my head down and got on with whatever it is I had to do, and kept out of trouble. Never committed a crime. I feel that I haven’t changed at all, however in the eyes of the law I am a criminal. I buy, posses, and consume cannabis.

The currently drugs policy in the UK is silly, to say the least, and I long for the day that people are not subject to having to meet shady chavs on back alleys (Admittedly not all dealers are shady chavs) and could possibly get hurt/mugged or god knows what. I dream of the day the public can go to their local coffee shop, or their local pharmacists and buy their pure, quality, cannabis.

I also have a lot of passion for this one plant, if the laws were different I would dedicate my life to it. The dream is to produce the most quality, pure cannabis and share my passion for the cannabis plant with the world.

However I cannot do this, so I decided to write this blog until the time came. A sort of time line as me as a person, cannabis in the UK, and the laws surrounding cannabis, I hope it’ll be an insightful journey, and I certainly hope that you all tag along and share you views and opinions.
